US intuitive healer Shawna Ristic shares how she died in a car accident and found unconditional love on the other side.
Shawna grew up in a supportive family and pursued modeling early on. While in college, she decided to drive to Atlanta to explore agencies. But on the way, she got into a terrible accident: her car flipped across lanes, and she was ejected 40 feet [12 meters]. Airlifted to the hospital, she lay in intensive care while her family kept vigil.
Shawna awoke in a bright white room, where six tall, glowing beings surrounded her, radiating unconditional love. They lifted her from her body, and she felt complete acceptance, free of judgment. They showed her that the labels and limits she’d been taught were untrue— she was love itself, a reciprocal energy that fueled both her and them.
From a corner of her hospital room, Shawna saw her mother holding her hand, felt her pain, and realized Judgment Day was not just about condemnation but knowing the pain one caused others. She saw life as Lights connected together, where dimming one’s own Light affected the whole, teaching her the responsibility to shine pure.
Later, Shawna sat in a circle with twelve beings debating whether she should stay or return. She sensed she had no choice in the matter. Her next memory was waking in the hospital, seeing her friend Patrick asleep beside her. Wishing him awake, she felt the same unconditional love, now woven into everyone, visible as a shining light in their eyes.
Doctors predicted Shawna might never live independently, walk, or function normally, but she left the hospital in four weeks instead of four to six months.
After recovery, Shawna saw the world anew— grass sparkled with vibrant life— but she struggled to fit back in. Later, living in France, she learned to follow her intuition, seeking what felt expansive and bright, affirming her awareness of a higher Self beyond body and mind. Her purpose became helping others awaken their own inner love and Light (Coming Home)
Insightful quote of the day: “Comparison is an act of violence against the self.” — Iyanla Vanzant, JD
