Previously in this multipart series on Michael Hughes’ near-death experience, Michael underwent heart valve surgery and developed severe pneumonia the following day. During the medical crisis, he left his body and eventually found himself in a peaceful void, where he believed he had died. After returning briefly to his physical body, Michael says he left again and found himself back in the void, this time inside a strange form he described as something like a ship, with his consciousness acting as the pilot. He flew above the void, recognized the form as what he called his “real body,” and traveled toward an enormous granite structure he says was 11 million miles or 17.7 million kilometers tall. There, Michael encountered millions of miles of bright golden code running up the structure, made up of numbers and hieroglyphics that he believed were alive. After getting a close look at the structure, he suddenly shot upward at tremendous speed.
And the speed gets faster, faster and faster, and it’s almost like an old-time movie house but your face is right up against [the screen]. That’s how fast it’s moving. The sound hurt my ears. It was painful, the faster you went, the more it hurt. And then that lasted maybe a minute or so, which is [a] long time. And then, poof, I’m up in the clouds. Perfect silence. I popped out, and it’s like a black and white movie. And I’m like, “What just happened? Where am I?” And I look down, and I can see the top of the building. I’ve landed higher than it. And there’s a gigantic letter K coming out of a granite book. The leaves [pages] of the book are open. And I remember saying to myself, “What is this?” So, then I came down. Michael believed an unidentified presence or force was guiding his movements.
It brought me down to where I was facing it, and a little closer. I think it wanted me to get a good look at this thing. And that’s when I felt it coming. I remember specifically saying this to myself. I said, “Oh boy, I know Who this is.” And for me, it was GOD. It was the CREATOR. And to give you an idea, I get goosebumps talking about this, it was like an energy wave of universes, a tsunami coming at me, the biggest thing ever. It was a little darker blue with stars in it. It was flying up. I said, “I know Who this is.” It came right up to the back of the K and stopped. I couldn’t see a physical person. I felt a male presence. I knew it was HIM, and HE knew it was me. Like, we both knew each other. I got that. I just stared at HIM, and HE just stared at me. I could say five, six seconds went by. And I was awestruck.
And then a beam of Light came from there and hit me in the forehead, which I think was some form of intelligence. And it hit me so hard, that’s the first time my arms were able to move, my legs [too], and I fell backwards and started falling down this building. And then, as I fell down the building, all that code that was alive started beaming into my chest. I had the whole 11 million miles of code downloaded into me. And when I landed on top of the temple roof, very hard, that’s when my arms spread out. I remember the ground cracked a little bit. And then, bang, my eyes opened up, and I was in the ICU [intensive care unit]. In Part 6, Michael reflects on what he believes his extraordinary journey may have revealed about the strange body that carried him through the void.
Now, my take on when I entered that ship: I think that’s how I got here. I think that ship was my body that came here. It brought my consciousness here. Join us tomorrow for Part 6 of this multipart series on Michael Hughes’ near-death experience. (Spiritual Warrior Journey)
